Classes do not start until next Sunday, June 7. What am I doing before then?
Tuesday night: free felluca (boat) ride on the Nile with Egyptian desserts.
Wednesday: free visit and lunch in Old Cairo, including the Khan El-Khalily (largest, most famous marketplace)
Thursday: ALI Orientation
Friday: currently unscheduled. Most likely a trip in Cairo to shop for groceries, etc., but who knows!
Saturday: free trip to the Pyramids and the Sphinx
Saturday night: Bedouin night. This I'll have to pay for - but it will be dinner and then horseback riding!!

I am so pleased to hear about all of these experiences but am somewhat concerned to see them referred to as "free"! You paid a lot of money, and I think they are either "included" or "paid in advance"!

Oh, you poor unfortunate soul. Will you be able to find any of Ramses' haunts in the Khan El-Khalil? (Or at least purchase a parasol!)
ReplyDeleteObama is speaking at Cairo University on Thursday, with a speech that is creating huge expectations & fears long before its debut. I think you should get ALI to switch its orientation to Friday and take you all to Cairo University on Thursday :-).
